Agency Workers Regulations

15th June 2011, London

Thank you to all who attended the Agency Workers Regulations Conference. The resource pack is available for XpertHR subscribers at

The Agency Workers Regulations (AWR) will be coming into force on 1st October 2011. This will introduce the principle of equal treatment for agency workers once they have been on assignment with the same hiring company for 12 weeks. The Government has now published final guidance for employers and recruitment agencies on the Agency Workers Regulations.

XpertHR events is delighted to bring you this conference on the Agency Workers Regulations and what it means for employers. The conference programme is designed to help delegates walk away with a better understanding of the new definitions and requirements for employing agency workers.

As the guidance on the AWR is due to be published in April, this event is ideally timed to provide expert advice and guidance to ensure you don’t fall foul of the law.
The morning will be dedicated to providing a solid legal grounding in:

  • The new definitions and changes introduced by the AWR
  • Calculating the 12 week qualifying period
  • Defining ‘equal treatment’ and how it will apply to agency workers
  • Liability and enforcement of the AWR

The afternoon will address the practical considerations of implementing the AWR and how organisations can continue to use agency workers whilst ensuring a flexible workforce. Our panel of experts will address:

  • The variety of responses and options for employers to use Agency Workers
  • Working with agencies to ensure compliance with the legislation
  • Managing the risk of claims

The AWR is designed to strike a balance between fairness for agency workers and flexibility for employers. How will your organisation need to respond to these changes?
This is an ideal opportunity to get up-to-date with the legislation and health-check your organisation and your use of agency workers.
